Knicks fans throw things at Victor Wembanyama outside Spurs hotel after historic Game 4

Victor Wembanyama found himself living a real-life nightmare following the San Antonio Spurs’ loss to the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Not only was he the main player on the wrong side of the biggest comeback in Finals history, but he had to dodge flying objects after the contest.

The Spurs were greeted by thousands of wild Knicks fans when they arrived at their hotel in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday night. It was a common scene with fans holding up their phones to record players getting off the team bus, obscenities being shouted their way and a few chants of ‘Knicks in five’ erupting from the crowd.

But then things took a turn for the worse. When Wembanyama took a few steps from the team bus, two things were thrown at him when he turned his back towards the crowd, where things happened.

The first object thrown at Wembanyama ignored him, but the second aimed at the Spurs star actually appeared to crash into the side of the road inches away from the giant.

According to the New York Post, no arrests had been made in connection with the Spurs team hotel as of Thursday morning.

The Knicks outscored the Spurs 32-16 in the final frame to win 107-106, and the roof nearly blew off Madison Square Garden when OG Anunoby hoisted a game-tying basket with less than two seconds left in regulation.

The series went from a possible 2-2 tie when San Antonio forced their way in the first half to a 3-1 series lead over the Knicks, who legitimately feel like the team of the future.
