Rosie O’Donnell says Kamala Harris won the 2024 election on the Acosta podcast

Rosie O’Donnell said in an interview Wednesday that President Donald Trump did not defeat former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
O’Donnell, a longtime critic of Trump, fled the country after winning the 2024 election and moved to Ireland. He said it was “amazing” that Trump is staying in the White House before suggesting that his victory was not deserved.
“I mean, part of the reason I left is that I never in a million years thought we would put someone who was guilty, who tried to start a rebellion, back in office. How did that happen? I don’t think it happened. I think Kamala won. I do,” O’Donnell told former CNN host Jim Acosta on his podcast.
“It’s interesting,” said Acosta, who was known for his controversial reporting at CNN when he was a White House correspondent during the Trump administration. Trump, on the other hand, often attacked Acosta and called him “unlawful news.”

“I think we will find all this, it will appear. I am not the first person to say this. There are all these researchers who say it. I read it on the Internet again today,” said O’Donnell before reflecting on whether Elon Musk somehow influenced the election.
O’Donnell failed to provide evidence that Trump did not win the election.
Acosta offered only a mild retort, saying it was “hard to believe” that Trump won but insisting that he trusts American democracy because he is “old fashioned.”
“I would never have thought something like that could happen, so I tend to trust it,” Acosta said. “But I’m worried you’ll try to steal the next one.”
Acosta is one of many mainstream media players now openly hosting left-leaning independent programs; he recently compared Trump’s name coming out of the Kennedy Center to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

O’Donnell, who reiterated some of the anti-Trump conspiracy theories during the lengthy interview, predicted that Trump would “come up with a major disaster” to cancel the 2028 presidential election to stay in power.
“We’re going to have an event here in the United States, maybe another assassination attempt, and you’re going to declare the election over,” he said, putting a quotation mark with his fingers as he said “assassination attempt.”
When asked for comment, the White House referred Fox News Digital to a June 6 Truth Social post in which O’Donnell was “obsessed” with the president.
Acosta has long been a vocal critic of Trump’s allegations of fraud in the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden.
Although Trump’s victory in 2024 was not as historic as he often claims, he won decisively, winning both the popular vote and a convincing majority in the Electoral College over former Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump also captured all the major states of the field on his way to become the second president to win consecutive terms.

The bad blood between O’Donnell and Trump goes back decades, when she criticized him while on “The View.” They continued to spar over the years, with O’Donnell telling the Irish radio show “Sunday with Miriam,” “He uses me as a punching bag and a way to filter his base.”
