Actress Reese Witherspoon has warned women that their jobs are three times more likely to be replaced by artificial intelligence (AI) than men unless they start learning how to use technology.

The “Morning Show” actress took to Instagram Wednesday to share the story of meeting women at her book club and finding out that out of 10 women, only three were using AI and only one realized she was using it properly.

So, if three out of ten women are the only ones using AI, that means 70% of that group is not moving forward,” Witherspoon said. “The thing I’ve learned about technology is if you don’t get a little understanding from the beginning, it just goes by fast. So you have to have a little bit of learning to go on.”

In the caption, he also wrote, “The AI revolution has begun, and I need to learn as much as I can about AI and share it with you all. Also, FYI: jobs held by women are 3x more likely to be automated by AI, yet women use AI at a rate 25% lower than men on average. We don’t want to learn So … you want to stay with me?”

Fox News Digital reached out to Witherspoon’s representatives for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

Witherspoon’s claim likely came from a report by the United Nations Organization of Labor and a report by the National Research Institute of Poland last year that found that 9.6% of jobs traditionally held by women, such as secretaries and management positions, may be taken over by AI in the coming years.

This compares to only 3.5% of jobs typically held by men.

Witherspoon previously encouraged women and filmmakers to start learning how to use AI during a Glamor interview in September.

“I’m always looking forward to how media is evolving and how I can help bring women into those emerging industries. And now we’re doing it with AI. Of course, it’s very important for women to be involved in AI … because it’s going to be the future of filmmaking,” Witherspoon said.

“And you can grieve and cry all you want, but the change is there. It will never be a lack of art and creativity and the real creation of physical objects. It may decrease, but it will always be of the highest importance to art and self-expression,” he added.
