The Indiana Fever are back on the hardwood, as the team reported to training camp ahead of the 2026 season, and all eyes are on star guard Caitlin Clark once again.

This time, it’s about making sure she’s healthy enough to follow through on an injury-riddled second season in the WNBA.

Clark told reporters at training camp that she is “100% healthy” after dealing with quad, groin and ankle injuries in 2025, which limited the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year to just 13 games.

But while Clark wasn’t allowed to be on the court, he learned, along with head coach Stephanie White, how to guard before the third year.

“I’m someone who doesn’t want to always have one lawyer, like I want to be there all the time,” Clark told reporters, in the Indianapolis Star. “But I think being a little wiser with my body … whether that’s recovery, whether that’s pre-court treatment, whatever it is.”

White followed Clark’s words.

“All the reps don’t have to be there, they have to be careful,” he said. “Every year he gets older, he understands that the cadence is a little different.”

Clark only played in 13 games, but made his second straight All-Star Game, averaging 16.5 points, five rebounds and 8.8 assists per game in that span.

Going into this season, Clark is clearly looking to continue her hot start to her professional career, and working with Team USA in March ahead of the FIBA Women’s World Cup was an experience she said helped prepare her for this season.

“You want to rise to the level of the people around you, then you want to beat them, get on the court and compete,” he said about the experience of playing and training with the best in women’s basketball.

So, Clark is heading into training camp not putting as much pressure on himself as he has in the past, including his years at Iowa. The Fever can see what else they have at point guard when he sits out and rests, including first-round pick Raven Johnson out of South Carolina.

The Fever hopes to continue making a name for themselves in the WNBA, having lost in the semifinals last season with an injury-riddled team. They also made a point of bringing back key players from last year’s roster, including Sophie Cunningham, Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull – all of whom have dealt with injuries in 2025.

Indiana also looked to the future, inking Aliyah Boston to a four-year, $6.3 million contract that marked the highest-paid deal in WNBA history following the landmark CBA agreement between the league and the players’ union.
