Miranda Lambert’s blunt advice to a rising country star about surviving Nashville

Country star Lauren Alaina shares how Miranda Lambert gave her a reality check about the music industry during an impromptu first meeting.

Alaina, 31, recently recalled a time when she appeared on “Taste of Country Nights.” He was asked who had given him the best advice in his career and in his personal life, and he said Lambert was responsible for giving him some solid advice.

“Miranda Lambert – I ran into the BMI Awards, in the bathroom. It was my first time meeting her, and she was like, ‘Don’t let this town or anybody change who you are. You’re a sweet Southern girl, and always will be,'” the “Road Less Traveled” singer shared.

“I didn’t even know he knew who I was. It was the best time ever,” he added.

Alaina first appeared in the music industry at the age of 15 on the stage of “American Idol.” He was successful in the singing show and reached the final in 2011. He finished second as Scotty McCreery took first.

Lambert’s advice comes after he previously opened up about leaning into his country roots.

The 42-year-old country star revealed that she embraced her inner girl by playing the adrenaline-pumping sport – shooting.

“I just started last year. I’m not perfect, but I love it,” Lambert shared on “The Joe Rogan Experience” last October.

He said he was introduced to the game by his friend Ken Shane, who is a 10-time world champion in training.

“I never had the guts to do it, you know? Finally, my husband was like, ‘Stop talking about it, and get out there and do it. Get out there and shoot with him. He’s going to love it.’

“Wow. And I was instantly addicted. It’s just like different.”

According to the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association, “the quick-time event uses two single-action .45-caliber grenades, each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition.” Competitors are awarded points based on time and accuracy, points are awarded for dropping the gun, losing the balloon and other factors.
