Late night host Jimmy Kimmel showed a video of his wife waking him up with the news that President Donald Trump has called for the manager to be fired again on Thursday night.

“I’m glad I’m here. I’m not something I take lightly anymore. Please relax. This morning, I woke up to my wife shooting a video on her phone. What happened? She was shooting me to let me know that the president gave me another round of applause today,” said Kimmel.

Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney, is heard in the video saying “Donald Trump wants you fired again.”

The host of the night show said that he had never been fired and asked, “How can I be fired again?”

McNearney said, “He posted again. He’s calling for you to be fired because you’re not funny and you’re low.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House for comment.

Kimmel’s “expecting widow” joke from last week about the first lady Melania Trump went viral on social media after Saturday’s attack at the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) Dinner, leading the president and first lady to call on ABC to take action.

Trump doubled down on Thursday in a Truth Social post.

“When is ABC Fake News Network going to fire the idiot Jimmy Kimmel, who unfairly hosts one of the Lowest Rated shows on TV? People are angry. Better soon!!! President DJT,” Trump he wrote.

Kimmel read Trump’s post during his show Thursday and the audience booed.

“Thank you for speaking up. I appreciate it. If you are unfairly overseeing, not only one, but the lowest rate in history is the reason I was fired, we should both be out of a job,” he said.

The liberal late-night host also said the president’s anger was “to distract us from the Trump-Epstein files.”

After Kimmel’s “waiting widow joke” went viral following the WHCA shooting, Kimmel insisted it was a joke about the Trump age.

“It was a very light-hearted joke about the fact that he’s almost 80, and younger than me. It wasn’t, by any stretch of the imagination, a kill call — and they know that,” he continued. “I’ve been very vocal for years against gun violence in particular, but I understand that the first lady had a very stressful experience over the weekend, and almost every weekend is very stressful in that house.”

Kimmel said the joke referred to the couple’s age difference and denied that it was an insult.

“And again, I agree that hate speech and violence is something we should reject. I do, and I think a good place to start dialing that back would be to have a conversation with your husband about it,” Kimmel later told the first lady. “Donald Trump is allowed to say whatever he wants to say, as he is, as I am, as are we all. Because under the First Amendment, as Americans we have the right to free speech. But with that said, I’m sorry that you and the president and everybody in that room on Saturday went through that. I really am. Just because no one was killed, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t painful and scary. We have to come together and be the best. “
