Fetterman calls May Day protests ‘orgy of socialism’ breaking away from Democratic Party

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., warned of what he called a “young communist takeover” within his party during an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime.” Criticizing far-left groups involved in the May Day protests, Fetterman described the current state of agitation as “an orgy of socialism.”
“It’s like a Palestinian marriage, it’s anti-ICE, it’s done away with ICE, and now it’s turning it into a social movement here,” Fetterman said Friday.
A member of parliament from Pennsylvania noted that while he supports labor unions that May Day is traditionally meant to be celebrated, he believes that the recent protests have deviated too much from the intended purpose.
“I’m a pro-union Democrat, but the kinds of filth you see are evident in many of them. Those are the worst ideas our party is perpetuating,” he said.

Hundreds of groups hosted May Day demonstrations, including chapters of the Democratic Socialists of America, the People’s Forum and Code Pink.
A Fox News Digital investigation identified a network of activist groups with an estimated $2 billion in combined annual revenue that organized thousands of protests on Friday.
“These kinds of protests are funded by billionaires fighting billionaires,” Fetterman said. “I don’t know if they see the irony of a lot of that stuff right now.”

In Minneapolis, crowds swelled to several hundred protesters as members of the Communist Party handed out leaflets and chanted messages against President Donald Trump and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In Wisconsin, one school district closed for the day after receiving employee signatures in support of participating in a “Day Without Immigrants,” part of May Day’s National Day of Action.

“They’re not just teaching kids in the classroom. They’re actively encouraging students to get out of the classroom and march in the streets with teachers, with administrators,” Wisconsin Moms for Liberty activist Scarlett Johnson said Friday on “Fox & Friends.”

Fetterman echoed these concerns, expressing dismay at students being pulled out of class for political demonstrations.
“Your children should be in school. My children were in school. And you can have beliefs, but I really believe that education is the most important thing, and that is a value that we cannot forget,” said Fetterman.
“Mostly to celebrate some of the worst ideas that have ever visited mankind.”
