Sometime last summer, I urged you to be aware, no, I warned you about a hot train coming regarding some Manning offspring.
And the crazy thing is, I wasn’t referring to Texas Longhorns quarterback, Arch Manning, either.
The Manning I was writing about was none other than Marshall, whose father you may not have heard of.
A guy named Peyton. Does he play any bells?

That’s right folks! Peyton Manning, five-time NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl winner, had a son, and that son is now 15 years old and plays football and youth baseball.
I mean, are you surprised? His father is Peyton Freaking Manning.
And, predictably, the hype surrounding Marshall is starting to reach a fever pitch before the kid even gets his driver’s license.

You can’t go five posts on X these past few days without seeing fans praise the young signal caller for his arm skills.
No. Wait. I can’t do this again.
Not this after the Arch Manning train has finished rolling through town.
It feels like yesterday my Twitter timeline was bombarded with videos of Arch pitching to future engineering majors at Isidore Newman High School.

The fact that I have to put up with this for the next three and a half years on social media probably makes me want to quit my job, move to Montana and go off the grid for half a decade.
In fact, the baby looks really cute spinning there.
He looks like the spitting image of his father, throwing mechanics and all.
However, I can’t get my hopes up as a Gator fan, because the mental torture Florida put his dad through while at Tennessee probably means he won’t end up in Gainesville.
Peyton was probably telling Marshall he wasn’t going to be a Florida Gator while he was in the womb, for Christ’s sake.
That also means his recruiting journey will be one we have to endure for the next few years as well.

The “Marshall Manning Sweepstakes” will be as much news as his cousin Arch did before him.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, thank GOD Eli went away with four daughters, because I pray this is the last time young Manning goes through the recruiting process.
