Artemis II astronaut Victor Glover showed off the “beauty of nature” as he delivered a message of faith and unity from deep space this weekend.

Glover, pilot of the historic lunar mission, was asked by CBS News Saturday about celebrating the Easter holiday while traveling on Earth.

“I don’t have anything fixed. I’m glad you brought it up, though; I think these ceremonies are important,” Glover replied.

Using the Bible and man’s place in the universe, Glover shared his perspective on the uniqueness of the Earth.

ARTEMIS II FACED TOILET PROBLEM LIKE NO ONE ON THE MOON

“Being so far from Earth and looking at the beauty of nature, I think, for me, one of the most important personal insights I have here is that I really see the world as one,” Glover said. “When I read the Bible and look at all the miracles that have been done for us… You talk to us because we are in a space that is really far from the earth, but in a space called Earth that was created to give us a place to live in the universe and space.”

Glover emphasized how precious human life is while marveling at the planet’s place in the universe.

“Maybe our distance from you makes you think that what we do is special, but we are the same distance as you. And I’m trying to tell you – just trust me – you are special,” he said. “In all this emptiness – this nothingness, this thing we call the universe – you have this oasis, this beautiful place we find to be together.”

Astronaut VICTOR GLOVER CREDITS AS MOON MISSION IS ‘HUMAN HISTORY,’ NOT ‘BLACK HISTORY’

He said this holiday is an opportunity to reflect on the common responsibility of unity, regardless of religious background.

“I think that, as we go to Easter Sunday, we think about all the cultures around the world, whether you celebrate it or not, whether you believe in God or not, this is our chance to remember where we are, who we are, and that we are the same thing, and that we have to go through this together.”

The Artemis II team includes NASA Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen. The team made the first human journey to the moon since 1972, following the same flight path as Apollo 13.

On Sunday, the crew sent more Easter greetings and revealed that they celebrated by hiding “eggs” around the spacecraft.

“We wanted to take a minute to remember the holiday we have at this time of year, something that many religions and cultures respect,” said Koch. “We hid a few eggs near the hut. They were of the watered variety, but we were all happy with them.”

Hansen also shared a message, emphasizing love as a universal value.

“Happy Easter everyone,” she said. “We are talking up here as a group and we wanted to send a special message for Easter on this day and, regardless of your faith or your religion, for me the teachings of Jesus were always the very simple truth of love, universal love.”
