Jeanine Pirro warned Thursday on “Fox & Friends” that the United States has “crossed the Rubicon” as she described what she said are increasing incidents of people traveling to Washington, DC, to engage in politically-related violence.

Pirro, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said authorities are seeing “more and more” people coming to the nation’s capital to commit such crimes.

“We’ve crossed the Rubicon because, for some reason, they think they’re allowed to break the law, kill people if that suits what they think is their political moral compass,” Pirro said.

Pirro spoke of a shooting involving a Secret Service officer near the Washington Monument and said political violence in the region has become more common.

“People, for some reason, think they can come here and do these things,” Pirro said. “To get attention – to exercise their right to complain about what they think is politically incorrect.”

“It’s not uncommon in these cases to retain grand juries and continue the investigation,” Pirro said. “This person can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, just like anyone who comes to the region to try to commit violence in order to focus on their political beliefs.”

Pirro also discussed an investigation into the Metropolitan Police Department’s crime reporting procedures, saying his office began investigating in August 2025 and reviewed more than 6,000 police reports.

“What we found is that there was a deliberate lowering of the crime rate to make it look like the crime is not as bad as it is,” he said.

“They took an attack with a dangerous weapon and made it recklessly dangerous,” Pirro continued. “They took burglary and trespassing. They took property and made it into lost property.”

He said specific crime statistics are not negotiable because they affect public safety decisions and resource allocation.

“It involves the allocation of resources,” said Pirro. “It includes making sure that victims are fully protected by the law.”

“President Trump, when he decided to make D.C. safe and beautiful, he stepped in and put in place the full resources that we needed to make this region safe,” he added.

This was noted when Pirro discussed the prosecution of Cole Allen, arrested by authorities for allegedly trying to kill President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

He said prosecutors recently added a charge related to the alleged assault of a Secret Service officer.

“Cole Allen was very focused, motivated, and armed to the teeth,” Pirro said. “He was in possession of guns, ammunition, knives, knives, holsters, ropes, cutlery as well as needle claws.”

He said investigators believe Allen intended to kill the President of the United States and said authorities are continuing to review his social media activity and contacts.

“He hated the President of the United States. He hated the administration,” Pirro said. “Whatever that motivation is, the truth is that his intentions are the only thing I’m concerned about.”
