San Francisco Giants call off ‘push’ celebration a day after taking league by storm

“I wish there was a way to know you were in the past before you left them.”

Those are the wise words of one Andy Bernard from “The Office,” and I have to say, truer words have never been spoken.

We all remember the San Francisco Giants outfield and their “hip thrusting celebration,” right?

After their 9-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night, the Giants’ outfielders came together for a post-game celly, and gave us one of the weirdest displays you’ll ever see on a baseball field.

SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS OUTFIELDERS ARE BURNING ON INTERNET FOR BIZARRE ATTACK FOR BEAT OVER DODGERS

And the crazy part is that they won again in LA on Tuesday night, which means, at worst, they’ll split a four-game series with their hated rivals from SoCal, and they’ll get a much-needed boost to help turn around their early season woes.

But, unfortunately, the good times had to end, and the Giants were asked to give up the trois as quickly as they had introduced it.

Goodnight, sweet prince of a celebration. We had no idea.

GIANTS THIRD BASEMAN GIVES TEAMMATE AN INCORRECT ANSWER AFTER ERROR

Yes, it looks like the front office of the San Francisco Giants (or someone in a position of authority, at least), is putting the kibosh on outfielders doing their best Village People impression, and, judging by some of the comments you left me yesterday at the bottom of my article, the instruction is quite welcome.

I could have sworn this particular celebration would have caught on and swept the Bay Area, but alas, it didn’t.

I’m not sure who made the call to end this celebration, but unlike my students, the good people at X aren’t too happy to see the longing ended.

Do you see? I had a feeling that Giants fans would welcome that celebration with open arms.

The new one definitely doesn’t have the same “zest” to it, but the bow is a classy act guaranteed to please all six San Francisco residents, if they haven’t fled to Texas or Tennessee yet.

We’ll see how tough the line is if the Giants start to slump again, because if they go on a five-game skid, I can almost guarantee that Tony Vitello will bring back the momentum on the “break glass in case of an emergency”.

Until then, it looks like we’ve left behind the good old days of grown men doing the “thrust circle” in the middle.

Organize your reminders accordingly.
