A Freedom High School student has been investigated for allegedly filming a toilet

A high school student in Loudoun County, Virginia is under investigation after allegations that he secretly recorded students in the school bathroom.

Freedom High School Principal Tania Brown sent an email to parents in late April informing them that school administrators had received a report that a student had filmed another student in the school’s restroom and that law enforcement was investigating, according to FOX 5 DC.

Last week, Brown sent another email to the school community, informing families that this incident does not appear to be an isolated incident and encouraging anyone with information to contact the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

7News reporter Nick Minock reported Tuesday that multiple sources told him that the Freedom High School student accused of taking photos and videos of other students in restrooms identifying as transgender and that there may have been more than 40 victims in the past three years.

When contacted for comment, a spokesperson for Loudoun County Public Schools confirmed that it was working with the County Sheriff’s Office regarding the ongoing investigation but said it was limited in what information it could provide. The district appeared to deny reports that the student had changed gender.

“These are serious allegations that we take extremely seriously. Loudoun County Public Schools is committed to transparency and will continue to provide accurate information to the public while operating within applicable legal boundaries regarding the privacy rights of students and staff,” they said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“We can also confirm that there are no reports that the students involved in these incidents were in a small room that does not match their gender,” said the spokesperson of the department.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital they are investigating allegations of illegal filming at Freedom High School involving children but could not confirm the number of victims.

The Northern Virginia school district, located about 40 miles outside of Washington, DC, has been rocked by multiple scandals surrounding its policy of allowing students to use restrooms and lockers based on their gender.
