House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., blasted Gov. Tim Walz responded to “more BS” from the Democratic governor by “seeking credit” for the federal fraud investigation in Minneapolis on Tuesday.
Emmer, whose district includes parts of northwest Minneapolis, called out Walz, writing, “More BS from our governor. @FBIDirectorKash just confirmed that the @FBI, @TheJusticeDept, and @DHSgov were drafted AND executed today’s search warrants.”
“The only thing Gov. Walz has to claim credit for,” he continued, “is allowing $9 billion to be stolen under his watch.”
On Tuesday, the Department of Justice and Homeland Security jointly raided 22 businesses suspected of fraud as part of an ongoing investigation into a massive fraud scheme involving child care, Medicaid and Minnesota’s immigrant community.

After the attack, Walz, who has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration’s fraud, wrote in X that “today’s attack on the country’s law enforcement and the country’s government happened because our federal agencies caught unusual behavior and reported it.”
“If you commit fraud in Minnesota you will be caught – and that’s exactly what we saw today. We catch criminals when federal and state agencies share information. Joint investigations work, and getting justice depends on it,” he wrote, adding, “That’s the way the system should work, and our agencies will always be there as long as there are fraudsters around to put them behind.”
He also called for a joint investigation into the murders of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were killed while confronting the immigration police. He called on the federal government to investigate the killings, “instead of picking cherries when we want justice and when we turn a blind eye.”
Emmer, a senior Minnesota Republican, did not have Walz’s statements.
The whip told Fox News Digital that “Tim Walz taking credit for an attack is as absurd as an arsonist taking credit for putting out a fire.”

“This seems to stand out when you know that your political career is over,” he continued.
“In addition to creating a system that can be easily hacked, there is evidence that Walz knew about the fraud for much longer than he led the public to believe,” Emmer said, adding, “Minnesotans are not buying the BS Walz is selling. This is the same man who spent months demonizing federal law enforcement officers, including these HSI agents who are trying to support HSI now.”
The Department of Justice also blasted Walz in response to his posts, posting on its official account a quick response, “Sue, don’t share.”
The DOJ continued to request additional information from Walz to assist with its investigation.

“While you’re in the mood to share, please share: -SNAP registration data so we can find people who steal food from needy families in your state. -Voter rolls so we can make sure there are no dead people and only American citizens vote in your elections. -Access to all criminal aliens in your jails and prisons, so we can protect your streets from violent crime.”
