She explained that “A Full Hysterectomy eliminates at least 7 different types of cancer,” and shared a photo showing the new scars from the procedure. She added several hashtags to the post, including “ovarian cancer” and “screening.”
In December 2023, after experiencing unexplained weight gain and pain in her left breast, Eggert was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma of the breast, a rare form of the disease.
Soon after, she underwent her first mastectomy – she later explained that she wanted to do a double mastectomy at that time, but her doctor advised her that if she only had one breast removed, she would be able to go into treatment quickly, and her immune system would not be too affected, so she agreed.

In an interview with Fox News Digital in November, Eggert said, “I’m good right now. I’m checking to make sure you don’t have any disease. So, that’s great. It’s a month-to-month thing. So it’s like, I get a clear bill of health, and I’m happy for a month, and then we do it all over again. So you know. So, it’s not just complaining. It’s still looking good, and the symptoms are clear.”

It seems that the actress knew that a hysterectomy was on the table. She previously told Fox News Digital that after undergoing mastectomy and breast reconstruction, she will undergo surgery or start hormone therapy. According to the Cleveland Clinic, most cases of cribriform carcinoma breast cancer are estrogen receptor-positive, which occurs when “high levels of estrogen in breast cancer cells help the cancer grow and spread.”
As he explained to The American Sun in December, his type of cancer is something he will have to deal with for the rest of his life.
