“There are a lot of different Easter eggs in every shoe that people can search by shoe and type of discovery,” Clark told ESPN. “The shoe looks a certain way when you look at me on the court, but when you hold it in your hand and see it up close, there’s a lot more to the consumer, which I think is really cool.”
Clark teased the announcement all week. He hinted that his long streak of wearing Kobe Bryant sneakers is coming to an end, changing his Instagram profile to reveal part of the upcoming shoe and donning a blue outfit before Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Tempo with a bracelet that read “10-01-26.”
The Caitlin 1 also uses Nike’s new “Opticast” technology, which the company says is designed to reduce drag and improve court movement, according to ESPN. Nike said the shoe was designed around Clark’s speed, descent and unpredictability.
