Demi Moore is defending Rumer Willis from the emotional abuse of the former prisoner of war

Demi Moore fiercely defended Rumer Willis when her daughter got into a heated custody battle with Derek Richard Thomas, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
Thomas filed for custody of their three-year-old daughter Louetta last summer, when Willis, 37, pleaded guilty to repeated emotional abuse during their two-year relationship.
In an affidavit filed earlier this year, Moore, 63, said she had “personal knowledge” of Thomas’ desire to “command and control Rumer’s environment for her needs,” which was most evident when her daughter gave birth.
“His acts of control and manipulation were often two-faced,” Moore wrote. “One he introduced to everyone and then the flip side when he was alone with Rumer or me and his siblings or Rumer’s babysitters.”

“The facade dropped and exposed itself clearly when Rumer was cut.”
Moore said that while her daughter was busy with housework, Thomas “without asking, and without showering, entered the birthing tub in a brutal and sudden manner.”
“Everyone was shocked. Rumer asked him to leave immediately and he did,” Moore wrote. “Then she spent the birth period angry and talking and talking about herself. She didn’t think about Rumer, the baby, the process, or anyone else for that matter.”

After Louetta’s birth, the “Landman” actress and her daughters helped reset the house to make it fresh and clean for the baby, but she said Thomas “immediately started screaming and showing his displeasure that we were there.”

“Derek just went into his room to complain angrily that we were there cleaning,” Moore wrote. “I heard him pressuring Rumer not to get me and his sister to support him. I heard him yelling and complaining angrily to Rumer saying ‘what can we do to come without his permission.’
“He stayed in the room with Rumer for at least thirty (30) minutes that morning less than twelve (12) hours after giving birth to Rumer. He would not leave her alone. It only ended when Rumer left the room to get away from him.”

Moore noted, “Derek always takes the joy out of every encounter with him. He wants to put Rumer at odds with our family, and it causes unnecessary stress and fear for Rumer to this day.”

She said Thomas wasted her first moment holding the baby when she insisted on “skin to skin” with the baby.
Willis was preparing to breastfeed the baby and gave it to Moore for a moment, but Thomas allegedly “took off his shirt” and went for the baby.

“She was so withdrawn and aggressive about this ‘skin-to-skin contact’ that she wouldn’t let Rumer dress Louetta when she was very cold and needed to be tied up and wrapped,” Moore wrote. “He showed absolutely no respect, care, compassion or support for anyone, especially Rumer and the child.”

He also remembered how his daughter was worried about Thomas smoking weed next to the child.
“Rumer, my other daughters and I were concerned that she was unstable,” she wrote. “Rumer told me that Derek was always causing arguments and making her very depressed. She told me that she wouldn’t let him sleep at night because she wanted to keep arguing until late at night.”

Moore said the family made an effort to support him as a new father, but he was unmoved in his actions to remove “Rumer’s support system completely.”
“I have continued to see her make decisions that do not reflect someone who truly wants to participate in the work of parenting, who underestimates, and who does not put Louetta’s best interests first,” Moore wrote.

Representatives for Thomas did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
In his announcement, Thomas denied Moore’s account of their relationship and said his claim was “based on hearsay and hearsay.”
“As further evidence of a hostile and problematic relationship between the Defendant [Willis] and her mother, the Defendant specifically told me that he did not want his family present for the first 40 days after Louetta’s birth,” Thomas wrote.

He added, “On this occasion, Ms. Moore, apparently based on something the Defendant said, threatened to ‘destroy me.’
Willis and Thomas are expected to appear in court on June 9 when a judge will issue a custody and visitation order.
