DHS says 2 arrested after Newark police raid

Federal agents deployed pepper spray and dispersed anti-ICE agitators outside the Delaney Hall detention center in New Jersey on Tuesday night, following days of unrest outside the private facility.
This confrontation, captured in a video shared by FreedomNewsTV, shows rioters trying to stop cars from leaving Delaney Hall in Newark. The authorities seem to be trying to stop the protesters from blocking the cars and moving them off the road.
This video shows the meeting turned physical as the agents of the organization forcefully pushed the protesters who came in contact with the hood of the car that was trying to leave the center. Some agents were also seen deploying pepper spray while others used batons against the Agitators.

On Tuesday night, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin spoke about the latest conflict in X.
“ICE officers were assaulted by anti-ICE protesters who sprayed law enforcement with an unknown chemical,” Mullin wrote, adding that two people were arrested on suspicion of assault, resisting and obstructing police.

These disturbances increased the weekend’s protest about the conditions of the detainees in this facility, which was caused by a hunger strike by the detainees.
Mullin on Monday dismissed the claims, writing, “There is no hunger strike at Delaney Hall. There are no subprime conditions.”

SOMETHING TO HIDE? ICE UNDER FIRE FOR UNFOR-PROFIT DETENTION CENTER
On the days of the protests, prominent New Jersey Democrats came to the center, including Sen. Andy Kim and Gov. Mikey Sherrill. While Kim was allowed to enter the facility, Sherrill was denied.

Democrats, including Sen. Cory Booker, DN.J., rallied around Sherrill, criticizing ICE and the agency on social media.
Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday said, “We will not let protesters stop or take down @ICEgov.”

“While New Jersey’s local politicians and anti-ICE protesters chose to spend their Memorial Day weekend insulting the law and rioting outside ICE’s Delaney Hall facility, law enforcement officers continued to put their lives on the line to arrest murderers, child abusers and kidnappers,” the department wrote in X, responding to a series of illegal arrests and illegal arrests.
