Dana Marie McNicholl reports on the dire situation in Venezuela following the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes, with 920 dead and more than 50,000 missing. Florida volunteers, especially the Venezuelan community in Doral, tirelessly collect and pack relief supplies. US troops from the Southern Command, including search and rescue teams, have also arrived on the ground to provide critical assistance.

The wife of former MLB outfielder Gorkys Hernandez was among those killed in the earthquake that devastated Venezuela earlier in the week.
Hernandez made the sad revelation about Daisy Maria Tovar De Hernandez in an Instagram post on Saturday.

“The queen of my life is a queen and she will be the most beautiful, beautiful, precious, the best woman in the world, who lived in bad times looking for a way to wake up, she was and is the most beautiful woman in my life,” he wrote in the post. “You will always be with me at all times and at every moment, I fly up my lady, my queen that God is with you in his glory and guides me to move forward and raise our family, I love you, rest in peace my girlfriend, give me strength the love of my life, because we had a mission but here I am about to fulfill it, teach me to be strong at any time in life.”
Deisy was at Hotel Eduards in La Guaira, Venezuela with several family members of La Guaira Delfines players as the team prepared to play Aragua Tigres in the Mexican baseball league, according to the New York Post.

Hernandez and his teammates rushed back to the hotel after the game was suspended. He played seven years in the majors with the Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants and others.
Venezuela was hit by 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes, which caused damage across the country. More than 1,400 people are reported dead and another 68,900 are missing.
