I run a fake company – Albany makes the poor pay for green politics

New York is making its poorest citizens pay for a political dream. The Cuomo administration blocked shale production in 2014, bowing to the cry of “terrorists”. Hochul kept the ban and doubled. The result: energy poverty for people who can’t afford it.
26 percent of New York City children live in poverty. Nationwide, 2.7 million inhabitants. Politicians respond with more taxes and finger pointing at the Feds – but the real answer is sitting right under their feet. Billions of cubic feet of natural gas, unused, while Albany digs a hole deeper with bad policy and fills it with tax dollars.
The numbers tell the story. A 2025 study by the Heritage Foundation found that New York’s fracking ban created a wealth gap of $11,000 per person — $27,000 per family — compared to neighbors in Pennsylvania across the border where fracking is allowed. Before the ban, those regions were economically equal. Since then, Pennsylvania landowners have been collecting thousands of dollars per acre in lease payments and a sixteen percent cut from all gas sales. New Yorkers get nothing for their rich reserves. It is government sponsored poverty.
TRUE INTELLIGENCE HELPS SOURCES OF NEW POWER
If fracking had been allowed, New York would have received billions in royalty payments. Tax receipts will increase due to high-paying jobs and high-income workers. The ripples from those billions of cubic feet of natural gas can lift all boats.
I know this because I live in New York. Mine may be the last company standing. Over twenty years, my company has broken thousands of wells – no groundwater pollution, no low birth rates, no bloodshed, no apocalypse. Nothing. Because fracking is safe. The data supports it. But data opponents won’t have it, and so won’t the citizens who need it most.

Some green is not clean — it looks clean. Renewable mandates come at the cost of massive land use, mining, toxic battery production, and waste disposal all of their own. And all solar farms and wind turbines still have to be powered by natural gas or coal when the sun isn’t hot and the wind isn’t blowing. Albany knows this, but presses on anyway – leaving New Yorkers with residential electricity costs 40% more than the national average and natural gas prices 23% more. The state imports about 80% of its energy, most of it from Pennsylvania. It’s like smoking cigarettes instead of buying them. The smoke still fills your lungs.

Cuomo and Hochul are champions of energy import and export opportunity. They kneel before merciless ideas and torture their poorest people. Natural gas is New York’s biggest low-hanging fruit. It’s right there.
And this is still the “before” situation. When AI data centers turn power into an all-out battlefield — and they will — the power shortages that sold themselves in New York won’t just hurt the poor. It will give a future to anyone who has gold. Governor Hochul, the activists you apologized for do not pay those utility bills. Your voters do. Turn on the faucets.
