Ignore the favorites and take back the long shots at the 2026 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto this week.

Because it’s a week before the PGA TOUR’s opening in America 2026 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto has a stronger field this year than in years past.
Featuring three Englishmen as betting favourites, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood, eight of the top 20 players in the Official World Golf Rankings converged on TPC Toronto as preparation for next week’s US Open.
Unfortunately, this beautiful field is missing from this cake tutorial. Last year’s Canadian Open was birdie-fest again football playersgolf course intellectuals, drag TPC Toronto, calling it lifeless and uninspiring.
NELLY KORDA’S IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT US OPENS FOR WOMEN, JT POSTON GETS IT IN THE MEMORIAL, AND FAMILY MAN TYRRELL HATTON
Speaking of “disincentives,” my golf betting season has been brutal. After getting 0 points in the Memorial tournament last week, my balance for the 2026 PGA TOUR is approx. -36 units (u). Thank God for the NBA playoffs, because I’m robbing Peter (NBA) to pay Paul (golf).
I cut off everyone with betting odds of less than +3000 this week. TPC Toronto is very easy, and the odds of the favorites are very short based on their actual odds. Here is my best bet for our neighbor in the north national open.
RBC Canadian Open 2026 Betting Card
The following odds are based on my previous bets on the golfers listed below. It can be changed.
🇺🇸 Brooks Koepka +3233 (0.62u) again Top-20 with ties +198 (1u), both in Kalshi.
🏴 Alex Fitzpatrick +4100 (0.49u) on DraftKings and Top-20 with ties +165 in Kalshi (0.75u).
🇺🇸 Eric Cole +5713 (0.35u) and Top-20 with ties +207 (0.5u), both in Kalshi.
🏴 Harry Hall +6111 (0.33u) and Top-20 with ties +207 (0.5u), both in Kalshi.
🇿🇦 Aldrich Potgieter +9900 (0.2u) at Polymarket and Top-20 with ties +425 in Kalshi (0.25u)
Brooks Koepka
Koepka’s hitting has been great lately; he just can’t hit the putt. With how easy TPC Toronto is tee-to-green (T2G), Brooks should get plenty of quality birdie looks.

He is sixth on TOUR this season in Strokes Gained (SG): T2G, and fourth in SG: Approach. Again, Koepka can’t putt this year, but TPC Toronto has Bentgrass greens, and that’s his best putting area.

More importantly, Brooks has six top-20 starts in his last 10 starts this year, highlighted by a T13 at THE PLAYERS Championship and a T12 at The Masters. His hitting should keep him on the first two pages of the leaderboard, and Koepka’s top 20 points tie is a “plus-EV” look.
Given how bad I am in golf betting this season, I doubt Koepka will make it this weekend. However, Brooks will win again, and probably this year, and this is a huge number considering that he is the most successful golfer in the field.
Alex Fitzpatrick
Of course, Alex probably died this week because I bet he did. However, this is a good number for Fitzpatrick, considering how well he is playing coming into the Canadian Open.
Since earning his full TOUR card by winning the Zurich Classic team event with his brother, Matt, Alex has three top-10 finishes in five appearances, including a T9 at the Cadillac Championship, fourth at the Truist Championship and T6 at the Memorial Tournament. All of those are “signature events” with strong fields.

TPC Toronto is a tough driving course, and Fitzpatrick has earned a stroke with his driver in all five of his TOUR starts this year. He is the first in both races that I raced Betsperts Golf. This season, Fitzpatrick ranks fourth in overall driving, which accounts for distance and accuracy, and fourth in birdie rate or better (BoB%).

Fitzpatrick is not popular in the betting market because he is Matt’s brother. But Alex has game, and if he has a good putting weekend, he will become the second Fitzpatrick to win a PGA TOUR regular event this year.
Eric Cole
This is another guy who has good winning form but is not getting any respect in the betting market.
In five of his last six tournaments, Cole finished T14 at the Valero Texas Open, T6 at Zurich, T6 at the Myrtle Beach Classic, finished second and lost in the finals at the Charles Schwab Challenge and eighth at the Memorial last week.
He has earned strokes across the board at Colonial Country Club (Charles Schwab) and Muirfield Village (Memorial) in his last two starts, which are much tougher courses than TPC Toronto.
Over his last 24 rounds, Cole leads the field in BoB%, according to Betsperts Golf. Finally, I’m looking for raw scorers in my Canadian Open betting card because TPC Toronto was so easy last year.
Harry Hall
When you combine Koepka’s swing with Hall’s putting, you have a complete golfer. Hall has earned strokes on the green in his three Canadian Opens. He finished T24 last year while taking 3.74 strokes to place at TPC Toronto.
Although his T2G play has been weak this season, he has appeared in a few tournaments. Hall was T6 at the 2026 Sony Open, T9 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational (a signature event) and T8 at the Truist.

Last week, he finished a respectable T29 at the Memorial and had a stroke with his irons and putter. Muirfield Village, which hosts the Memorial, is one of the toughest courses on TOUR. That said, if TPC Toronto plays an easy T2G again this year, Hall can lay his way to victory. Or at least that’s my theory.
Aldrich Potgieter
This kid is just 22 years old and has already won on TOUR, the 2025 Rocket Mortgage Classic, and has shown some form recently. Potgieter has scored in five of his last six games, including four straight. He finished T35 in the 2026 PGA Championship in his last start and gained a stroke overall.
Also, three of the top four finishers at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open are good putters and putters: Ryan Fox (1st), Sam Burns (2nd) and Cameron Young (T4).
Potgieter drove and set his winning ways last year and can do it again this week. He leads the TOUR in driving distance this season and has a stroke that includes three of his last four outings.

Three of those tournaments were signature events, and one was a major one. Potgieter shouldn’t be more than +6000 in this field, so I’m getting good value here.

2026 RBC Canadian Open ‘One-and-Done’ Pick: Alex Fitzpatrick
Mayo Cup season standings: 4,204th with $4,446,923
Since my only chance to make money in this league is to burn with picks, I’m using Fitzpatrick here, who I don’t expect to be extremely popular. Although I wouldn’t be surprised, because nobody wants to waste a good player in the Canadian Open.
Regardless, I have used two top five betting favorites for the Canadian Open and Brooks for the Texas Children’s Houston Open. So, I might try to get lucky with Alex and hopefully get a shot at the top if he wins this week.
