King Charles III and Queen Camilla are expected to travel to parts of the United States from Monday, with new details detailing a multi-city visit to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary of independence.
The royal couple will visit Washington, DC, New York City and Virginia from April 27 to April 30, marking King Charles’ first visit to the United States as monarch, Buckingham Palace announced.
Queen Elizabeth II previously visited four US countries in 1957, 1976, 1991 and 2007.

President Donald Trump, who will host the royal couple at the White House, said he was looking forward to the visit.
Speaking to Fox News anchor Shannon Bream on “Fox News on Sunday,” Trump said the royal family’s trip to the US is going ahead as planned.

“King Charles is coming, and he’s a great guy, and we’re looking forward to it,” Trump said. “He’s a wonderful person and a great representative.”
In a statement to Fox News Digital on Sunday, a Buckingham Palace A spokesman confirmed that the weekend shooting at the White House Correspondents’ dinner in Washington, DC, did not disrupt the royal family’s visit.

“Following the talks on both sides of the Atlantic during the day, and continuing [the] advice for [the] government, we can confirm that the state visit of their Majesty will continue as planned,” said the spokesperson.
“He’s a wonderful person and a great representative.”
Their trip comes during the historic 250th anniversary of America’s independence, during the reign of the king’s great-grandfather, King George III.
Here are some of the most anticipated stops on King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s historic tour this week.
Washington, DC
The tour begins in the nation’s capital, where King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to be welcomed by President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump for a private tea, Reuters reported.

The two will later attend an official White House military review, followed by a state dinner hosted by the president and first lady, the White House announced in a statement.

King Charles is also scheduled to address Congress, marking only the second time a British monarch has addressed a joint session, after Queen Elizabeth II’s 1991 speech, according to the Associated Press.
New York City
After Washington, the king and queen will travel to New York City, where they are expected to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks before marking the 25th anniversary later this year, Fox News reported.

They will meet with first responders and families of victims, in addition to other engagements in the city.

King Charles will visit a community organization that focuses on educating children about sustainable urban farming programs, while Queen Camilla will attend an event celebrating books, including Winnie-the-Pooh’s 100th birthday, People magazine reported.
Virginia
The tour will wrap up in Virginia, where the royal couple will attend a public event to mark America 250, a national celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary, as reported by Fox News.

King Charles is also expected to visit the national park to meet with indigenous communities involved in conservation efforts, while Queen Camilla will attend an event promoting American horse racing, Fox13 reported.
