Singer Nancy Sinatra called President Donald Trump’s reference to her father Frank Sinatra’s song “My Way” “disrespectful.”
On Saturday, Trump posted a video on Truth Social of Frank Sinatra singing his classic due to his renewed threats to destroy the country’s Iranian infrastructure in alleged violation of the ceasefire agreement.
The song begins with the opening lines, “And now/the end is near/And I face/the final curtain” which echoes Trump’s past threats to destroy the nation.

“Omg, @NancySinatra is not going to be happy about this. Trump goes against everything Frank stood for. He was a huge champion of equality and a supporter of the civil rights movement,” another person told X.
The 85-year-old “These Boots Are Made For Walkin'” singer later responded to the comment, adding, “This is insulting.”
He also posted user comments criticizing Trump’s post and use of the song, insisting that Frank Sinatra would not agree with Trump’s politics.

“This is just sick. Frank Sinatra would not have allowed that monster in the White House to use his music or put his words in his mouth. Sinatra was a decent man, a man who never lied about who he really was because he WAS the greatest person ever. Trump is lost,” another wrote.
Sinatra also responded to a fan asking if he could do anything to stop Trump from using the song.
“Unfortunately no. The only people who can do something are the publishers,” he replied.

Trump previously danced with first wife Melania Trump to the song “My Way” at the Liberty Ball after his first inauguration in 2017. At the time, Sinatra joked about writing stories, “Just remember the first line of the song.”
She later deleted the post and denied she was “angry” that Trump used the song.

“What a rotten way to make a harmless joke,” Sinatra said on Twitter.
He also wrote, “I’m not sure why this was such a big deal. It was just a joke.”
