The Abraham Accords came under fire from Iran as antisemitism rose in the West

When Iranian missiles and drones roamed the skies of the Gulf this spring, they didn’t pause to ask who below was an Arab and who was a Jew. They hit Abu Dhabi, Manama, Amman and they hit Tel Aviv. They killed the citizens of UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait who were going about their lives, just as they killed the Israelis who took refuge with their children.
The Tehran regime has never made a difference between us. It’s been a long time since the rest of the world stopped making one.
However, I have watched in disbelief as the reaction to this war, in many Western cities and on many Western campuses, has been an outburst of hatred directed not at the government that started it but at the Jews.

Monitoring groups recorded an increase in anti-Semitic incidents around the world within days of the outbreak of war. Synagogues, Jewish schools and Jewish charities have been attacked from London to North America, with several plots traced back to the borders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. Think about what that means. The ayatollahs fire arrows at the Jews of the Middle East, and their sympathizers respond by terrorizing the Jews of the West.
This is not just bad behavior. He is not learned about the techniques. Blaming Jewish communities for Iranian aggression is a result that Tehran has spent forty years engineering. Antisemitism is the regime’s favorite export, cheaper than oil and more attention-grabbing. All the synagogues burned in Europe to defeat the IRGC did not have to pay for it.

If you want to see another way, come to my district. Travel to Dubai or Abu Dhabi today, and you will see rabbis walking openly in hotel lobbies and lounges. You will find kosher restaurants, Jewish day schools and the Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue standing next to the mosque and church at the Abrahamic Family House.

He will meet with Jewish businessmen and investors who are building companies with Emirati and Iranian partners living in the UAE, signing deals in Hebrew, Arabic, and English on the same afternoon.

This is not a public relations job. It is daily life in the United Arab Emirates, and it is the strongest antisemitism anywhere in the world: a Muslim-majority nation where Jewish life, like the lives of all communities in the UAE, is not only tolerated but accepted, protected and celebrated.
That is why Iran is targeting us. The UAE is home to more than 200 nationalities, including more than 300,000 Iranians and 50,000 Americans who live and thrive in this land of peace, prosperity, and harmony. It is also the country leading the AI industry as if it were the oil of the future and helping the Arabs reach Mars.

Tehran did not attack the Emirates despite our peace with everyone in the region. It attacked us because of it. Coexistence is the weapon that the state will not be able to resist because all its ideas depend on convincing Muslims, Jews and Christians that they are eternal enemies. The covenants of Abraham proved that false, and the ayatollahs have never forgiven us for it.

Here’s what the cynics predicted in 2020: that the Accords were a fair-weather arrangement that would collapse under the first real crisis. The opposite happened. Under the fire, the relationship between the Abrahamic covenants deepened. The trade is still going on in the billions. War has made our peace permanent.

So when I see protesters in Western homes chanting against Jews in the name of war, I want to tell them what any Emirati or Bahraini can: you don’t stand with the people of the Middle East. The people of the Middle East are building a future with the Jewish people, as neighbors, partners and friends. You are with a dying regime that kills Arabs, Jews and Persians with equal gusto and would gladly watch your communities tear themselves apart over the oldest hatreds in history.

Pre-district selection is never clear. There is the Tehran model: missiles, armies, conspiracy and destruction. And there is the Abu Dhabi model: synagogues next to mosques, commerce instead of chaos and two people choosing each other where it would be easy not to. My district held its own elections. The West must stop allowing the mob to run its own elections.
