The Dallas Cowboys made fun of the internet with the Caleb Downs award

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most storied franchises in NFL history.
They have five Super Bowls to their name and a number of the greatest players to ever call Dallas home for years throughout their careers.

Despite all this, the ‘Boys seem to be the target of a lot of jokes on the internet due to the number of disappointing endings and high expectations from fans over the last 30 years.
Speaking of those five Super Bowl rings, the Cowboys decided to show their trophy case to their newest recruit, first-round pick Caleb Downs, by taking him to the practice facility in Frisco, Texas.

Impressive haul, isn’t it?
Not many franchises can claim to have five Lombardi Trophies to their name.
The only problem is that the latter was caught thirty years ago, before Downs was even a twinkle in his father’s eye.

There are people old enough to legally rent a car who weren’t there the last time the Cowboys were in the NFC Championship.
Internet trolls saw their chance to pounce and decided to remind everyone just how much those Lombardi Trophies really are.
Sad, but totally unexpected.

I mean, the Cowboys social media and PR team had to know this would be cannon fodder for internet trolls, right?
Maybe show him the trophy case sometime when there are a few cameras around, huh guys?
Then again, any franchise that isn’t the Patriots, Chiefs or recent Super Bowl winners any year has the same problem.
