President Donald Trump marked Cinco de Mayo on Monday with a new Truth Social post featuring a stylized illustration of “NICE” — a play on Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.
The post adds to a series of Cinco de Mayo messages from Trump that have drawn repeated attention online, including his widely shared 2016 taco bowl post that appears almost every year around the holiday.
Trump often uses this holiday to share posts that mix humor, politics and messages about people from other countries; and had already publicly embraced the “NICE” brand concept before Tuesday’s post.
The image shared Tuesday features an eagle and shield design above the word “NICE,” the same style as the federal law enforcement logo and appears to be a reference to ICE.

Trump endorsed the idea of renaming ICE “NICE” in a late April Truth Social post, writing: “GREAT IDEA!!! DO IT.”
The quote comes from a social media suggestion that Trump later promoted online.
The latest post also brought new attention to Trump’s well-known Cinco de Mayo moment.

In 2016, then-candidate Trump posted a photo of himself eating a taco at Trump Tower alongside the caption: “Happy #CincoDeMayo! The best tacos are made at the Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!”
The post quickly spread and has continued to pop up online over the years.
The photo showed Trump sitting at a desk with a bowl of tacos in front of him, giving the camera a thumbs up.

Last year, Trump re-shared a post of a taco bowl and wrote: “This was so amazing, 9 years ago today!”
The post continues to spread across the internet as users revisit the original image of the taco bowl each year around the holiday.
One user posted a photo of the president’s first taco bowl of 2016, writing, “Cinco de Trumpo.”
One commenter wrote, “such a classic,” and another laughed, “probably the greatest tweet ever.”
