President Donald Trump signaled his support for former TV star-turned-star Spencer Pratt when he spoke to reporters Wednesday at Joint Base Andrews.

“Oh, I’d like to see him do well. He’s a character,” Trump said.

“I don’t know him. I think he probably supports me. Do you support me?” Trump asked a reporter.

“I heard you’re doing it. I heard you’re a big MAGA person. You’re doing great,” Trump said of Pratt after being asked if there was any resemblance between him and the former “The Hills” star.

Trump questioned whether Pratt could win the election in California, saying the state’s voting system is “rigged.”

“I don’t know if, you know, if you have a fraudulent vote out there. That’s the problem. The votes are rigged. You have a really crooked vote in California. You have all the mail-in votes, everything else. It’s very hard to win because the election is so unreliable. If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes, I would have won California because I rigged it with His panis.

“They sent 38 million votes. No one knows where they go. Yes, the Democrats do, so I think, but, by contrast, the Democrats get more votes. Some get eight votes, they get eight cards, and the Republicans have to call. ‘Where’s my card?’ It is an integrated system. One of many. Not too bad. I will give you a list. Maybe I’ll make my own list. But… California is one of the most dishonest states,” he concluded.

Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag lost their Pacific Palisades home in the Los Angeles fire in January 2025, which destroyed thousands of homes across the region. That fire, and Democratic Mayor Karen Bass’ allegations of “mismanagement” afterward, were a major factor in Pratt’s decision to run for mayor.

“I’m standing here a year later, and I have to tell you that the saddest part of the last year wasn’t getting fired or losing everything, it was realizing that all of this could have been avoided,” Pratt said while announcing his candidacy on January 7, 2026, the one-year anniversary of the Palisades Fires.

SPENCER PRATT SAYS LISTERS ARE SECRETLY HAPPY

“While our lives were on fire, Mayor Karen Bass was in Ghana,” Pratt said.

Pratt has an Airstream trailer parked in the dirt lot where his Pacific Palisades home burned in the 2025 wildfire. He said he stopped living there after receiving death threats and because his security team warned that the area was not safe. Pratt and his family reportedly spent time in temporary housing, including the Hotel Bel-Air and rental properties near Santa Barbara/Carpinteria, while campaigning for mayor of Los Angeles, and he has publicly asked if he could rebuild permanently in the Palisades.

He got a campaign buzz with provocative AI-generated campaign videos and strong views on homelessness and drug addiction, including calls for law enforcement, mandatory detention and increased incarceration for repeat offenders and people involved in street crime.

Pratt trails Bass in the top poll, though a recent Emerson College poll showed him rising from 10% in March to 22% in May. Bass polls at 30% in the same poll.

Candidates are heading to the June 2 primary election where a winner could be declared if one candidate garners more than 50% of the vote. If no candidate reaches the 50% threshold, the top two candidates will advance to a run-off national election scheduled for November.
