President Donald Trump blasted a “disgusting” reporter who tried to question sending troops to the Middle East as part of a war with Iran and blasted ABC News as “corrupt” on Sunday.
Trump was asked during a media briefing on Air Force One if he could explain why thousands of Marines and sailors are being sent to the region. The president was seen devouring the reporter before he could answer.
“You’re a disgusting person,” Trump said before quickly moving on to another reporter.

The president was previously asked, reportedly by the same reporter, about a fundraising email sent by the Trump PAC that featured a photo of him wearing a baseball cap during a recent memorial service for service members killed during the war with Iran.
“I was in a dignified transfer, unlike a lot of other people,” Trump said.
An ABC reporter asked if the fundraising email was “appropriate.”
“I understand,” Trump said. “I didn’t see it… we have a lot of people working for us. There’s no one better than me in the military. Look at the election results, look at the kind of votes we’re getting. Look at the poll numbers.”

Trump, who was returning to Washington, DC, for the weekend at Mar-a-Lago, then asked a reporter who he was traveling with.
“ABC news,” replied the reporter.
“One of the worst, most untrue, most corrupt,” Trump replied. “You know what, ABC News, I think it’s probably the most corrupt news organization in the world. I think they’re terrible.”
Trump then announced, “I want nothing more from ABC News.”

Trump also said there were “AI-generated” and “fake” stories coming out of Iran.
In 2024, ABC News and its chief executive, George Stephanopoulos, agreed to pay Trump $15 million to settle a defamation lawsuit. Trump sued Stephanopoulos after he asserted that Trump was found guilty of “rape” in a civil suit during a contentious conversation with Rep. Nancy Mace, RS.C.

During Sunday’s demonstration, Trump also suggested that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) must stand with the US to protect the Strait of Hormuz or face a “very bad” future.
