Aubrey Plaza revealed that she is pregnant with her first child.
During an appearance on the “Smartless” podcast, the “Parks and Recreation” star recalled how birth control pills may have contributed to her past health trauma, including having a stroke in her 20s.
When the facility’s administrators asked if Plaza would continue to use contraception, she bluntly admitted, “There’s a baby inside me.”

“Today was a big day. I went to the doctor today and my dog went to the doctor,” he recalled. “My dog is getting a scan right now, I’ve been scanned before. I’m not kidding.”

“She had to get an ultrasound on her stomach and I got an ultrasound on my stomach and there’s a baby in there.”
Plaza, 41, who is dating actor Christopher Abbott, admitted she is excited about being a mother and “always wants to see what that’s all about.”

Earlier in the podcast, Plaza detailed how having a stroke in college has impacted his life in many ways.
“It’s like halfway through a sentence without a sentence,” Plaza said. “It’s a scary story.”
“I had taken my sisters to a Hilary Duff concert the night before, and you know how that goes. I felt normal. I wasn’t moving my jacket. I went to my friend’s house in Astoria to have lunch with them, and I was telling them about the Hilary Duff concert.”
As soon as Plaza said the name of the singer “Woza Uhlanze”, he started having a stroke.
“I stroked myself and said … the first thing that happened was that my right arm was numb, I looked down, I was confused,” she said. “I wasn’t wrinkling, but I was looking at my arm as if it wasn’t my arm. It was numb, it wasn’t connected to my body.”

Plaza said he “disappeared” for a moment and when he arrived, he could barely speak because of a blood clot stuck in his “tongue center.”
“It was like I didn’t even speak; it was like I didn’t speak, but I understood everything,” he recalled.

His medical drama remains a mystery.
Plaza said he believes birth control pills may have contributed to his stroke.
“That’s all I put in my body,” she said. “Like I wasn’t doing drugs or, you know, doing anything weird.”

Plaza said the stroke “100 million percent” affected his spiritual outlook.

“I grew up very Catholic. I went to an all-girls Catholic school my whole life, so, my spirituality was kind of surrounded by saints like God and Jesus and, you know, things like that.”
He added, “I feel like I’ve always been a spiritual person, you know. Now I’ve turned to some of the dark arts, you know?”

The announcement of her pregnancy comes more than a year after Plaza’s estranged husband, director Jeff Baena, died by suicide. He was 47 years old.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call on Jan. 3 in Los Angeles where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Fox News Digital confirmed at the time.

Baena’s representative directed Fox News Digital in a previously shared statement on Deadline. “The family is devastated and requests privacy during this difficult time,” the statement read.
The couple was private about their relationship after meeting in 2011. It is not clear when they are getting married, but Plaza confirmed the status of their wedding in 2021 in an Instagram post.
