‘Boy Meets World’ star Danielle Fishel sticks to one workout to look timeless

NEW YORK CITY – Danielle Fishel is sharing the secret behind looking and feeling her best.

The “Boy Meets World” star revealed that she’s more than just a regular cardio workout — and credits one fitness routine with helping her look and feel better than ever.

“Weightlifting,” Fishel — who famously played Topanga Lawrence on the popular 1990s series “Boy Meets World” — told Fox News Digital. “Actually I only lift weights now.”

“I don’t do cardio anymore,” he said at the Tribeca Festival about his latest work, “Doc Meets World.” “I’ll go for a walk. I like to walk for 20 to 30 minutes after I eat, but I lift weights, and it makes a difference.”

The 45-year-old actor has become the latest celebrity to embrace strength training as more people move away from endless cardio sessions and turn to lifting heavy weights to build muscle while supporting long-term health.

Fishel’s fitness tip came during a packed meet-and-greet at the Tribeca Festival alongside former “Boy Meets World” cast members Rider Strong and Will Friedle, who also shared the heights and challenges of growing up in the spotlight.

The cast openly discussed their broken relationship with Ben Savage on the “Pod Meets World” podcast, but Strong said there’s another side to the story that fans shouldn’t forget.

Strong – who played Cory’s best friend Shawn on the show – reflected on the years he spent growing up with Savage, admiring the actor’s talent and recalling the deep bond they shared while bringing his beloved sitcom to life.

“My friendship with Ben? Oh, that we were just amazing teammates,” Strong told Fox News Digital. “He was very talented, and he really taught me how to be a child actor, because you know, I didn’t know anything, and he was already an actor.”

While Strong reflected on the friendship, Friedle opened up about the dark side of child stardom, admitting that there were times when leaving Hollywood felt like a real possibility.

“There were times when I think we all at one point thought about running away from Hollywood,” Friedle told Fox News Digital.

“But like anything else, I’ve always said that true artists are people who can’t do anything else. You can do anything else, but you’re held back. That’s where your heart lies.”

When asked what kept him in business, Friedle’s answer was straightforward.

“The love of needing to entertain,” he said.

“Boy Meets World” aired on ABC for seven seasons, from 1993 to 2000.
