Singer Oliver Tree on the list of passengers in the fatal helicopter crash in Brazil – National

Singer and internet star Oliver Tree was among the passengers of the helicopter involved in the crash that killed six people in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning, fire officials said.
He was 32 years old.
The Ministry of Defense in Rio de Janeiro said one of the helicopters crashed into a parking lot, where many electric vehicles were parked, igniting a fire that was extinguished, the Associated Press reported.
Officials said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
The police said that the comedian Tree is on the list of passengers given by the flight management, but they have not been able to identify the bodies of those who died in the accident, according to the Associated Press.
Tree performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on June 4 and shared videos on Instagram on Saturday, where he was playing soccer in Brazil.
The 32-year-old singer was in the middle of a world tour headlining his fourth album, Love You Madly, Hate You Badlywhich started on May 30 in Mexico City.
Of the six dead, five were in one helicopter and only the second pilot, reported CNN Brazil.
Global News contacted the Rio de Janeiro state civil police for further comment, but has not yet received a response.
Tree, who has over three million followers on Instagram and 17.2 million followers on TikTok, has released his debut EP. Demons in 2013 and spent his first career producing dubstep and performing under the artist name “The Tree.”
In 2017, Tree signed with Atlantic Records and released his own single Welcome to LA under the name Oliver Tree in 2018.
Tree went on to release four studio albums with Atlantic, including Bad Good (2020), Cowboy tears (2022), Alone in a Crowd (2023) and Love You Madly, Hate You Badlywhich was released in April.
Along with his music career, Tree also broke the Guinness World Record for the largest scooter on Earth in 2020, which is over 4.16 meters long and 3.13 meters long.

Many comedians and internet celebrities took to social media after news spread that Tree was listed as one of the passengers involved in the fatal crash.
Comedian Whitney Cummings wrote, “Oliver Tree is one of the most talented people in the world and often comes with ego and all kinds of dickhead nonsense.”
“But Oliver is pure love and the best version of what an artist and a person can and should be. There is no silver lining. We have lost a giant,” Cummings wrote.
Singer and songwriter Melanie Martinez, who dated Tree, said she was “an absolute disaster today.”
“It is really difficult to understand how it is possible that someone you once shared a specific and constructive time of your life suddenly. He was very dedicated to his art that I loved and deeply respect. I think everyone who knows him will look back on those moments of laughter and happiness that he easily aroused,” he wrote in his Instagram Stories.
“His laugh was so infectious and warm. His ability to creatively lead and take action while maintaining a childlike sense of wonder and awe was so inspiring. He had such a heart and was a true artist in every way.”
“Rest in peace Oliver. I know you make the angels giggle. I will be here wondering what planning and creative work you are doing in heaven. My love,” his post concluded.
KSI, a British promoter and singer, wrote on X, “I can’t believe I have to write this.”
“You’re 32, man. You should still be here. You had so much life left. So much music to make. So much content to make,” he said. “You’re a legend and you always will be. You still don’t feel real. I feel really sick. I love you, bro.”
Singer Bebe Rexha wrote on X and said that I was still scared, I was in the middle of my CD signing in NYC and I heard news about Oliver Tree, I can’t believe we recorded a song together Dirty Blonde. He was very smart. Loving. You are talented. Kind of. I feel bad. May he rest in peace.โ
Jackass star Steve-O took to Instagram, writing, “I was very lucky to be friends with Oliver Tree. He visited me often, and let me know he cared about how I was doing. He’s a great person.”
“I will never forget this lesson from Oliver or the time we had on the @NBRadioPodcast. Thank you for sharing your creativity and staying unique the best way you can. See you on the bright side,” T-Pain wrote on X.
Canadian rapper bbno$ wrote on X, “Rest easy oliver you will always be an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and brilliance with the world. My heart is broken right now. Hold your friends and family close.”
