Things Abdul Carter didn’t say lightly about his distaste for President Trump

The New York Giants have a lot going on with the return of Odell Beckham Jr., and the addition of two more receivers in JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios, so the controversy that was created when Abdul Carter complained that his teammate Jaxson Dart supported President Donald Trump is behind us now.

That’s what the Giants want.

Maybe Carter wants that because he doesn’t need anyone to do critical thinking about this episode.

DART AND CARTER ARE NOT MEETING BUT HE DOESN’T APOLOGIZE

But WFAN has Craig Carton of The Carton Show with Chris McMonigle apparently he has thought about this saga and shared some of those in Don’t@Me with Dan Dakich.

“Abdul Carter didn’t say anything when his coach held a press conference about his whole family meeting the president,” said Carton. “He didn’t say anything when Saquon Barkley was playing golf with him [Trump]. No, they are white. It’s the whites who make the dumbass stumble.”

It’s not just white people. Because Harbaugh is White.

Carter found it easy to say, “if [Dart] choosing to associate with a man like President Trump, it’s my responsibility based on what I believe or what I stand for, not only to show my colleagues that I’m against that, but to show the world.”

This, although it does not say whether he has a problem with Harbaugh, who visited Trump in the White House before the 2025 season.

Carter also did not mention that Lawrence Taylor, the greatest defensive player in franchise history, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, and the man Carter asked for permission to wear his retired jersey, is a Trump supporter.

ABDUL CARTER REMOVES CRITICISM OF JAXSON DART FROM PUBLIC NEWS

Taylor has made several public appearances with Trump over the past few years, including at campaign rallies, White House events and golf outings.

One of the most notable appearances came in May of 2024 when Taylor joined Trump on stage at a campaign rally in Wildwood, New Jersey. Trump introduced Taylor as “the greatest defensive player ever” and called Taylor and former Giants running back OJ Anderson his “golf buddies.”

Taylor then offered one of his strongest endorsements of Trump, telling the crowd: “I grew up a Democrat, and I’ve always been a Democrat — until I met this man right here.”

Taylor later added: [Trump] we won’t have to worry about anyone in my family ever voting Democrat again.”

That came a month after Carter publicly asked for the honor of wearing Taylor’s retired No. 56. Taylor denied the request and Carter wears No. 3 now, but the second-year player clearly had respect for Taylor.

Has that respect waned because of Taylor’s total sincerity in supporting Trump more openly than Dart ever did?

We don’t know because Carter never criticized Taylor. Or Harbaugh, his coach.

Or have you ever been asked about it.

This is where the tenacity of New York news failed last week.

They asked Dart if he was wrong to have Trump at the rally. They did not ask Carter if he was wrong to call out his colleagues publicly.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DOD NOT @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

They asked Dart if he understood why introducing Trump would be considered controversial by some. They did not ask Carter if he understood how Trump won the vote of 77 million Americans, which is the second most votes in American history, and his distaste for the president may seem controversial to some.

And, yes, the media talked to Harbaugh, too. They didn’t ask the coach his meeting with Trump. And they didn’t ask Carter if his coach’s visit upsets him the same way?

So, one thinks, there are reasons the New York media want this story to die because it paints some of them in the light of doing an imperfect job.

“People are always looking for something to hold on to, to attack those who support Trump,” Carton told Dakich. “I’m glad a lot of people are upset about the second-year QB running for president, but I haven’t heard one of those news outlets say a word about Josh Jacobs allegedly being strangled by his girlfriend.”
